Description:
Reporting to the Manager, Compliance Analytics, the Data Analyst, Compliance Analytics is responsible for supporting Enterprise Compliance with a variety of analytics initiatives. These responsibilities include reviewing large quantities of data for a variety of compliance functions, developing enhanced reporting, automation of various processes and performing various investigative and analytical functions.
This is a fixed term role for 9 months.
What will you do?
Work with compliance officers to develop compliance metrics and dashboards to support effective oversight of business operations’ compliance with regulatory requirements and improved risk management.
Undertake special projects the relate to Compliance, Analytics and Technology using the tech platforms.
Design, develop and implement business ad-hoc requests and analytical solutions using Python, Excel, SQL and Tableau.
Build statistical models and conducts EDA in Python, Tableau, Excel and/or other tools to support business needs.
Build and implement Glue ETL jobs, QuickSight dashboards, EDA on Jupyter Notebook, SageMaker from dev to the prod environment using PySpark, SQL through CI/CD pipelines.
Produces specialized reports and data extracts for assigned business areas while demonstrating solid understanding of business objectives.
Produce technical and user documentation to support create tools and dashboards
What do you need to succeed?
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in data analytics.
Experience with ETL processes, data management, Exploratory Data Analysis and process improvement.
Experience in working over distributed version control systems like Git, BitBucket.
Strong working experience over AWS (services like Glue, Athena, QuickSight).
Excellent programming skills with a keen aptitude for learning new programming languages and analytics tools quickly.
Experienced in developing data visualization tools such as Tableau and Tableau Prep.
Strong research, problem solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
Strong, proven experience with MS Excel (VBA and macros), SQL, Tableau, Tableau Prep, Python, AWS.
Certification on Tableau and AWS is a plus.
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Notes/Unique requirements:
Successful candidate can be located out of Toronto office
Some travel to Waterloo/Toronto will be required
Insurance/Financial Services experience preferred.
