Description:
The Customer Business Manager (CBM), Retail develops sustained business relationships and drive profitable sales volume for ekaterra assigned accounts such; Loblaws, Costco, and Walmart. The CBM is also responsible for improving in-store and online presence by leading brilliant execution across the extended team of Marketing, Category Management, Retail Coverage, Finance, Channel Category Sales Development and Supply Chain. This role will also have a unique opportunity to drive omni-channel initiatives within top Canadian Retailers. The CBM is the main contact for everyday management of the broker. The CBM also has a direct report, a sales analyst, that is dedicated to support the sales objectives.
Stakeholder Management and Key Interfaces:
Partner with GM to develop customer business strategies and plans aligned with ekaterra’s vision
Must be able to effectively relate with multiple levels of management, both internally and externally
Strong relationship building, collaboration, and management skills across all functions such as Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, etc.
Ability to partner and drive Broker relationships and overall sales
Ability to develop and manage a direct report, sales analyst
Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred
Experience: 3-5 years’ CBM experience and Account/Customer management experience within a CPG; Experience and success managing Tier 1 customers such as Loblaws, Costco and/or Walmart
Language: English. Knowledge of French is an asset but not required.
Skills:
Deep knowledge of the Canadian market and consumer goods industry
Experience to build and execute annual business plans, adapt as needed and track/measure results
Highly accountable self-starter with the ability to deliver results in a lean, agile organization
Capability to develop and influence strategy at both retailer and manufacturer, at management level positions
Ability to think creatively in building out promotional plans and influence Tier 1 Retail customers
Strong negotiation skills and ability to build “fact based” selling stories
Understands that promotional guardrails are in place, but offers programs and solutions that deliver profitable results
Problem solver that will need to exercise good judgment and routinely make decisions to support the day-to-day business
Excellent planning, analytical, communication skills required; Strong PowerPoint, Excel, and presentation skills
Working knowledge of Nielsen and Customer POS Data is required
