Custom Webapps Support Specialist

The Support Specialist in this role will be responsible for monitoring and maintain Meter Data Mgmt. System applications & Custom Web applications and providing support implementation of related fixes, minor enhancements, and upgrades.

Accountabilities

  • Monitor and maintain daily Application operations and batch performance.
  • Perform routine sustainment activities: troubleshooting issues, perform root cause analysis, testing and applying bug fixes, updating standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with the business, vendors, and team members to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues while providing timely status updates to the solution lead on all work requests.

Required

  • 3 years of IT production support and/or upgrade experience with enterprise application software, or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or commerce
  • Web and network technologies: .Net, HTML, XML, web services, TCP/IP, SOAP, SSL certificates
  • Oracle database and/or other relational databases, using SQL and querying tools (Toad, SQL Developer), and tuning/performance monitoring tools (OEM)
  • IT production support and/or upgrade experience with enterprise application software or equivalent.
  • Technical skills in troubleshooting and correcting issues in the following areas:
  • Microsoft desktop OS such as Windows 7 & Windows 10 and/or newer versions, diagnosing and repairing connectivity issues and device support issues
  • Microsoft Windows Server OS 2008R2, 2012, and/or newer versions, Remote Desktop Connection, Windows event viewer monitoring and error logging, batch file/PowerShell scripting
  • Familiarity with Active Directory account management and environment configuration through the use of Organizational Units/WMI Filters and Group Policy Objects
  • Linux, commonly used OS commands & basic shell scripting
  • System resource monitoring (CPU, memory, disk, network utilization)
  • SQL concepts and queries to industry standard databases
  • Basic networking concepts
  • Basic Firewall concepts
  • PKI concepts such as certificate request generation and signing
  • Familiarity with web servers such as IIS, Apache. HTTPS/SSL Binding
  • SSH/Putty, FTP/SFTP applications, HTML/XML, Syslog, OpenSSL
  • Familiarity with ITIL based processes and ticketing systems
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access)
  • Well-developed English oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate and work with both technical and non-technical personnel
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to prepare test data and to analyze/correct operating problems

Additional Information

  • Successful candidate will be required to work out of the Vancouver office two days per week.
