Description:

Your main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Increasing and enhancing knowledge of Alberta's military and government history
  • Building and maintaining an object-based collection
  • Communicating knowledge of military and government history to inform and educate Albertans
  • Identifying opportunities to further the museum's goals and strategic direction as they pertain to military and government history
  • Supervising staff to ensure delivery of program products and services, to promote staff satisfaction, and to maintain a safe working environment

Qualifications

Ph.D. in a relevant discipline (such as political history, museum studies) with 1-3 years’ experience in a cultural institution.

Equivalency: Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a cultural institution.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated written productivity, including publications in peer-reviewed literature
  • Experience in collecting and handling material culture objects
  • Must have or be able to hold a Canadian Firearms License for non-restricted and restricted firearms
  • Must be able to travel within Alberta
  • Class 5 Driver’s License
