Description:
Our Finance program is currently recruiting a full-time salaried instructor committed to instructional excellence, student success and advancement of the program. Reporting to the Program Chair, the instructor is an academic position. The successful candidate will possess expert skills and knowledge in a particular field as well as currency of practice in that field. NAIT provides exceptional support for those new to instruction, however, prior experience in teaching and learning will be an asset. Instructional excellence is essential to the achievement of NAIT’s mission and the fulfillment of our Promises to Alberta, Industry, Students and Staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruct assigned courses using case-based learning, problem-based learning, technology-supported learning as well as other instructional and assessment strategies.
- Provide qualitative and quantitative feedback to students on various authentic assessments.
- Inspire students to become business and community leaders.
- Leverage industry expertise to develop and deliver the curriculum as part of a subject area team.
- Follow and adhere to NAIT policies, procedures and academic regulations.
- Non-teaching professional administrative duties such as course coordination, assessing transfer credits and contact with current/potential students.
- Contribute to program and school efforts, including program curriculum review and renewal, participation at meetings or town halls, support for recruitment and marketing events, and generally helping to build a high-functioning team founded upon collaboration and respect.
- Research and build communities of professional practice.
- Engage in scholarly activity that involves the intentional creation, integration and dissemination of knowledge that is subject to polytechnic peer review.
- Liaise with business and community stakeholders.
- Promote the program to prospective students and other stakeholders.
- Support the school by engaging in institutional service as required.

Qualifications:
- Related Doctoral or Master’s degree in Finance and considerable related industry experience in Finance industry is required.
- Retail Financial services industry experience will be preferred.
- Candidates with specific professional certifications/designations such as CFA/CFP/FRM/CBV will be an asset.
- Related instructional and curriculum development experience will be considered valuable.
