Description:
The Continuous Improvement Specialist will strategically implement lean manufacturing to continually improve the production process.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist in production operations to drive efficiency improvement in manufacturing by utilizing continuous improvement techniques
- Recommend methods for improving worker’s efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools and methodology throughout the manufacturing facility and processes
- Drive the standardization of processes and implementation of Lean metrics and best practices
- Contribute to the 5s initiative to ensure that improvements are sustained and entrenched within the business
- Demonstrate leadership by mentoring production staff and promote knowledge transfer between teams
- Develop a curriculum for Lean training and establish a structure in the business to improve the lean knowledge across the business
- Host Kaizen improvement events
- Ensure the factory layout, both at macro and micro levels, is suitable for an efficient manufacturing process
- Identify and implement new technologies, Capex justification, planning and implementation
- Provide world class manufacturing techniques to support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement
Let's Talk About You:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Engineering.
- 2-3 years’ experience as a Continuous Improvement Specialist in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Lean Green Belt designation would be highly desirable
- Apparel manufacturing experience preferred.
- Hands on experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Bilingual in English and French is required
- Strong capabilities in planning, organizing and process control.
