Description:
The Provincial Coordinated Access system for mental health and addiction (MHA) services is a key initiative led by Ontario Health’s Mental Health and Addictions Centre of Excellence (MHA CoE). This system aims to provide seamless, equitable, and timely access to the right MHA care for those in need. It aligns with the Government's Roadmap to Wellness, the Ministry’s MHA strategy and Ontario Health’s Annual Business Plan. The Coordinated Access system integrates existing provincial and regional assets and supports broader health system transformation through collaboration and innovation.
As the Consultant, Coordinated Access, you will be responsible for designing and implementing regional coordinated access models. This role involves leading strategic projects and integration activities to develop and advance local MHA systems. You will engage diverse system partners—such as patients, caregivers, health service providers, Ontario Health Teams, and government bodies—to support key MHA strategies and operational priorities.
Working in a fast-paced environment, you will build and maintain strong partnerships with senior leaders and ensure alignment with the MHA CoE and Ontario Health’s strategic goals. Additionally, you will foster transparency, consistency, and compliance across partnership initiatives, while managing relationships, agreements, and regional projects.

Here is what you will be doing:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of regional strategic and operational plans for the mental health and addictions (MHA) system.
Broker systems solutions and strategic partnerships to meet the needs of Ontario Health (OH) and MHA system partners, aligning initiatives with business needs such as data, performance measurement, capacity planning, and communications.
Anticipate system challenges, proactively design solutions, and lead change management initiatives.
Analyze trends, service gaps, risks, and challenges to drive improvements and support evidence-based decision-making using robust data analysis.
Serve as a trusted advisor, coach, consultant, facilitator, and project manager to system leaders, driving MHA transformation and change initiatives for the Coordinated Access Initiative and related MHA initiatives.
Partner with key system partners to communicate, drive and implement MHA programs, such as Coordinated Access, across diverse groups, ensuring alignment with OH and regional priorities.
Enable critical MHA program components such as performance management, system partner engagement, and organizational development across the system.
Lead the evaluation of key initiatives, identifying key performance indicators, and collecting and analyzing data to measure impact.
Lead regional governance and oversight models while liaising with the Mental Health and Addictions Centre of Excellence (MHA CoE) and provincial governance structures to ensure effective project execution.
Lead representation of Ontario Health on regional and provincial committees, contributing to the development of initiatives for integrated and quality patient care.
Ensure regional Coordinated Access Initiative aligns with broader organizational strategic priorities, values, and the Mission, Vision, and Values of OH.
Develop subject matter expertise in clinical and/or health system areas related to mental health and addictions and provide expert strategic advice on system planning and policy development.
Lead regional engagement efforts with community partners, including Indigenous communities, to support cultural competency and share leading practices
Employ political acuity, negotiation, and persuasion to strengthen collaborations, align regional and provincial goals, and advance system partner objectives.
Lead system engagement, fostering partnerships across various sectors and managing regional governance and oversight structures.
Manage regional project planning, reporting, budgets, and funding needs, ensuring alignment with provincial timelines and priorities for Coordinated Access and the Mental Health and Addictions system.
Promote a team environment, emphasizing collaboration, shared objectives, and fostering high levels of engagement and morale
Identifies, assesses, and manages risks affecting project deliverables; ensures that Senior Management are informed of the strategic implications of these developments.
Facilitate collaboration among Ontario Health regions to enhance integration and shared learning through communities of practice.
Liaise with the MHA CoE and provincial governance bodies to ensure strategic alignment and effective communication.
