Description:
Our client is looking to hire an energized, engaged and collaborative Construction Manager (Mechanical Contractor) to plan, organize, direct, control, evaluate and provide general management oversight of mid to large size construction projects through conceptualization, scheduling, implementation and all other phases of a construction project.
- Provide direction and support to the Project Managers and ensure they are following standard operating procedures for construction projects
- Setting and ensure the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Project manager group is closely adhered to and followed
- Work with the General Manager to ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Project Manager group are aligned with the SOP’s of the design and fabrication shops
- Coaching the Project Managers and, if necessary, be involved in disciplinary actions for noncompliance with the SOP’s (HR will attend)
- Responsible for the profitability of projects and prompting immediate action on jobs that are declining from the original projected margin.
- Manage Project Coordination Managers and provide direction to the Project Coordination group
- Provide direction to the commissioning coordinator to continue to develop the company’s in-house commissioning processes
- Perform complete review of estimates to ensure purchasing is aligned with estimates
- Other as required
Requirements:
- 5-10+ years as a leader in the mechanical contracting construction management space
- Post secondary in related field
- Strong leadership and excellent organization
- Project Management skills
- Ability to use systems and technology applicable to a related role
