Construction Leadership Role

MatchBox Recruitment, a leading firm specializing in Construction, Engineering, IT, and Finance recruitment, is seeking a Superintendent for a dynamic construction leadership role in Calgary, AB. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project execution, ensuring safety compliance, managing resources, and collaborating with stakeholders to drive successful project completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and oversee safety programs to maintain a secure work environment.

• Lead on-site project execution, ensuring adherence to budget, timeline, and client expectations.

• Manage site logistics, temporary facilities, and resource allocation efficiently.

• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and trade partners to optimize workflow.

• Utilize the Last Planner System and 3-week look-aheads for scheduling and trade coordination.

• Oversee project financials, including cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting.

• Ensure strict adherence to project documentation, QA/QC standards, and contract requirements.

• Conduct site meetings, performance evaluations, and team development initiatives.

• Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience: 5+ years as a Superintendent or in a construction leadership role.

• Education: Trade certification or post-secondary education in Construction Management or a related field.

• Project Experience: Proven leadership in large-scale commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.

• Technical Knowledge: Strong expertise in building envelope systems and renovation projects.

• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and communication abilities.

• Software Proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project).

• License: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
