Description:
Develop and review structural, pressure vessel, and Compress designs ensuring they meet all applicable codes and regulations.
Complete all design calculations.
Identify installation requirements for pumps, compressors, and vessels.
Anticipate safety concerns in the constructability of a project and provide solutions to mitigate risk.
Provide technical support and coordination including research into alternative construction and engineering methods, productivity analysis, writing reports, mentoring and training.
Build standardized design spreadsheets based on CSA S16, CSA O86, ASME BTH-1, NBCC.
Create standard design checklists for various types of designs.
Prepare 3D models for 4D animations and/or construction.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction engineering / operations with at least three years in construction engineering (lift studies, structural, pressure vessel, and compressor design)
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Practicing Professional Engineering Member of APEGA
Strong foundational knowledge in structural, pressure vessel and compressor engineering design principles.
Attention to detail in reviewing own work to provide error free engineering documents.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and standard drafting technology.
3D computer modeling skills.
Knowledge of planning and work sequences in construction.
Intermediate skills using Excel and Word software.
Excellent verbal communication skills - dealing with multiple supervisors and sub-trades.
Proficient understanding of codes and standards.
