Conservation Finance Strategy Advisor

We’re looking for a finance and/or investment professional with a commitment to addressing the biodiversity and climate crisis. Your successful track record in structuring and closing investments, including an ability to identify investment opportunities, develop and negotiate deal documents, and raise public and private capital will be vital to this role. Along with this, you are motivated to expand this critical approach to funding conservation in an established non-government organization and bring the strategic, conceptual thinking and adaptive leadership that is required to demonstrate success.

Minimum Qualifications

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in business, impact investment, sustainable economic development, or natural resource economics, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience sourcing, structuring & securing financial commitments for financial transactions and negotiating deal documents.
  • Experience in developing strong relationships with diverse internal and external partners and stakeholders.
     

Desired Qualifications
 

  • Experience and familiarity with working with Indigenous and Metis communities.
  • Knowledge of environmental economics principles, including ecosystem services valuation, cost-benefit analysis, and market-based mechanisms for conservation.
