Description:
As a Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, coordinating work, setting priorities, performance management, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise to department staff with regards to the use of the Instrumentation hardware and software.
- Maintain laboratories, servers and workstations.
- Provide assistance in developing laboratories with academic staff.
- Plan network and laboratory upgrades and expansions.
- Supervise staff, evaluate performance, manage and coordinate the work in the area, etc.
- Coordinate activities with other IT management teams.
- Maintain leading edge technical knowledge of instrumentation systems.
- Use asset management and controls using Peoplesoft.
Skills & Abilities:
- Experience and competency with a range of instrumentation hardware and software.
- Must possess a strong service orientation and be able to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment are essential.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering Technology or Instrumentation and Controls Journeyperson certificate is required.
- Completion of two years of post-secondary education in a related field will be considered.
- Five years of directly related experience would be desirable.
- Previous supervisory experience is desirable.
- Equivalencies may be considered.
