Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Compliance and Asset Management Engineer.

 

Reporting to the Section Manager, this position is responsible in coordinating work related to station units for the efficient and economic commissioning, operation and maintenance of hydroelectric generating stations.

 

The Compliance and Asset Management Engineer position plays an essential part in the OPG Eastern Operations team where the Compliance and Asset Management Engineer will be integral in advising and influencing with strategic decision making. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Provide consultative advice and project/program coordination services associated with the identification and application of accepted and sound project/program management principles, standards and methods. Prepare project estimates, schedules, technical specifications, and tendering documents.
  • Collaborate, and liaise with various stakeholders both inside and outside of Ontario Power Generation.
  • Maintain knowledge of government, regulator and stakeholder interests and assist with design, delivery and evaluation of stakeholder involvement programs, products and services. Prepare reports and coordinate responses to inquiries from stakeholders.
  • Provide assistance, input and feedback for Business Plans, Budgets, the EO Work Program Catalogue and other Plant Group and Corporate programs.
  • Plan, coordinate and conduct assigned inspections, investigations, assessment and monitoring of Hydroelectric facilities, equipment and structures.
  • Participate in benchmarking studies, as directed, and coordinate best practice investigations, and recommend improvements to business processes. In addition have a good understanding of emerging and best practice methodologies and processes in the domain of project management.
