Description:
Develop, plan and implement the Dementia Education Program’s overall communications and branding strategy in a manner that is consistent with Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and University standards and that successfully advances and promotes the mission of the DEP.
Plan and develop communication and public relations materials for the DEP. Compose, edit and oversee design and translation of documents for internal and external audiences, such as the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, the University, the McGill affiliated health network, other targeted stakeholders and the public at large. Such materials include promotional copy, reports, presentations, press releases, website copy, social media posts, articles for publications, such as newsletters, program brochures, videos and other channels.
Increase the profile of the DEP by promoting events and accomplishments through appropriate media channels.
Plan, organize and execute all aspects of community outreach events: manage the involvement of participating units and external vendors; review contracts and cost estimates, control budget, manage online registration applications and negotiate with venue representatives.
Manage all event communication, from scenario development and speaking notes to press releases and post-event coverage.
Work with a high degree of autonomy and minimal direction.
Liaise with academic journals and communication colleagues in the McGill Steinberg Centre for Simulation and Interactive Learning/Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences/University, as well as those at collaborating external entities, other McGill departments and units, and internal and external vendors.
