What are we looking for in this role: Reporting to the Marketing & Public Relations Manager, the Communications & Marketing Coordinator will assist with the execution of the Georgian Triangle Humane Society’s (GTHS) annual communications and marketing plan and will seek unique and novel ways to celebrate GTHS stories and inspire supporters towards our organizational mission of compassion for pets and people. This individual understands how to work collaboratively in a hybrid work environment, is detail oriented and goes above and beyond to support their team.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities
- Working with the Marketing & Public Relations Manager, develop, maintain, and execute Annual Communications and Marketing Plans for the GTHS which combines media partnerships, donor programs, all events, community outreach, and operations.
- Lead designer for all external communications, including but not limited to, print media, e-newsletters and e-blasts, graphics, logo, photos, social media, videos, and website.
- Operate proactively, working to ensure that all GTHS events and campaigns are successful and that all timelines and sponsor deliverables are met. Troubleshoot well in advance of events and deadlines to ensure that unique and novel communication methods are initiated when necessary.
- Seek out and celebrate GTHS stories (animal, volunteer, and donor) and tell them authentically. Prepare to be onsite for key events (clinics, transfers, Community Cat Days, Public Spay/Neuter clinics) to gather story content ensuring behind the scenes content is generated and posted to social media platforms, YouTube and the GTHS blog regularly. Special attention paid towards video footage.
- Maintain the annual Communication Calendar to ensure tactics for all ongoing projects are monitored and updated for timely completion, social media posts execute, as planned, across various platforms and all internal meetings, blog posts, e-blasts, press releases, internal communications are entered and tracked accordingly.
- Coordinate and maintain all onsite promotional and marketing signage at the GTHS Animal Centre, Treasure Tails and the GTHS Animal Hospital.
- Manage the GTHS main social media sites (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok & YouTube) responding to all messages within a 24-to-48-hour period.
- Maintain and update the GTHS website on a regular basis.
- Develop and oversee GTHS promotional merchandise.
- Tracks monthly and quarterly KPI's for Marketing; highlight all trends being noticed.
- Coordinate GTHS Presence at Community Events (Markets, Fairs, Festivals) and engage other teams when appropriate. Manage staffing of events through effective communication with staff and volunteers.
- Develop and monitor the GTHS Marketing and Advertising budget annually.
- Utilize opportunities with the media and community to showcase the GTHS program and animals for adoption.
- Drive adoption marketing utilizing new techniques to attract adopters to the Animal Centre.
