Communications Coordinator

 

Description:

The District of Tofino is looking for a qualified candidate to fill a temporary 2 year full-time position for the role of Communications Coordinator.

Reporting to the Manager of Legislative Services, the Communications Coordinator will perform duties related to coordinating and implementing the District’s communications and community engagement strategies. The position also involves working with senior management to prepare and provide input into departmental communications and marketing plans and assisting with refining the District Communications Strategy, guidelines and evaluation methods. The Communications Coordinator researches, compiles, consolidates, writes and/or edits a variety of information materials for print and digital communication and community engagement, including news releases, newsletters, promotional materials, community surveys and posts for social media and the District website. Using templates, the Communications Coordinator also develops basic graphic design and digital content for a variety of audiences in a variety of formats.
