Communications Assistant

 

Description:

This position involves researching database for Food Bank funding opportunities from Foundations opportunities, social media updates, food bank support and other duties as required.

DUTIES:

  • Monitor and update the Food Bank’s social media sites, including Facebook, and Instagram
  • Research potential sources of funding including foundations, corporations and individuals
  • Assist in outreach events including planning, marketing, and donations
  • Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Participate in team meetings, staff meetings, community development opportunities as required
  • Perform other duties, appropriate to the position, as required.

CAREER RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • This position would provide job related experience for youth wanting to pursue or who are currently pursuing post secondary education in programs such as; Marketing,

Fundraising, Communications, or Non-Profit Management.
