Position Overview:
Alo Food Group is seeking a passionate and creative Communications and Marketing Specialist to join their team for a 14-month contract (with potential for extension). This is a dynamic opportunity to shape brand storytelling, develop impactful marketing strategies, and build meaningful connections with guests across Alo Food Group’s prestigious portfolio of restaurants.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Marketing Campaigns:

  • Plan, create, and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns to increase brand awareness, guest engagement, and reservations.
  • Analyze campaign performance and audience insights to optimize strategies and maximize return on investment (ROI).
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to develop promotional strategies for events, seasonal menus, and special campaigns.

🔹 Digital & Social Media Management:

  • Manage and oversee all social media platforms for the Alo Food Group, ensuring content aligns with the brand’s identity.
  • Develop engaging visual and written content, working with photographers, videographers, and creative partners.
  • Track performance using analytics tools, adjusting strategies to drive growth and engagement.
  • Plan and execute paid social campaigns to boost awareness, reservations, and promotions.
  • Monitor and report on website traffic, social media metrics, and digital campaign performance.

🔹 Email Marketing & Website Management:

  • Craft and distribute engaging email newsletters that share updates, promotions, and special events with subscribers.
  • Analyze email campaign performance, using data insights to enhance future campaigns.
  • Oversee regular website updates, ensuring all content — from menus to events — remains accurate, visually appealing, and aligned with the brand’s image.

🔹 Communications & Public Relations:

  • Assist with developing communication strategies to elevate Alo Food Group’s visibility and Chef Patrick Kriss’ profile.
  • Act as the primary contact for media relations, handling inquiries, distributing press releases, and nurturing relationships with media and influencers.
  • Draft and manage press materials, media kits, and PR collateral to engage external audiences.
  • Track and report on media coverage to assess PR impact and identify new opportunities.

Qualifications:
✅ Degree or certificate in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
✅ Minimum 3+ years of experience in marketing and communications, ideally within hospitality or food & beverage.
✅ Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a strong understanding of brand voice.
✅ Proficiency in social media management, email marketing platforms, and digital marketing tools.
✅ Experience managing website content using platforms like WordPress and Squarespace.
✅ Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
✅ Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and brand building.
✅ Familiarity with Toronto’s hospitality and dining scene is a strong asset.
