Description:
Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Communications and Marketing, this position supports the implementation of communications plans and social media strategy for McGill Athletics. The candidate would be providing communications services, including but not limited to, creating social media content, assisting with website management, organizing digital assets and creating videos.
Working in a fast-paced, team environment, the incumbent is expected to deliver accurate, effective and efficient customer service while providing a welcoming, positive and professional image for McGill Athletics and McGill University.
Duties
- Produce engaging content on social media platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter for a targeted audience.
- Develop and produce content calendars, in coordination with the digital team.
- In conjunction with the digital team, expected to create engaging and entertaining graphics intended to promote varsity games.
- Develop on-site live social media coverage (Instagram stories, TikTok, etc..)
- Recruit, hire, supervise approximately 5 casual hires who will work throughout the varsity seasons.
- Perform photo and video archiving.
- in collaboration with the Communications Officer work closely with various organizing committees to develop and execute digital media strategies leading up to and including lives games, major events and championships.
- Liaise with coaches and/or student-athletes in order to identify and address promotional needs of each team.
- Assist with Athletics & Recreation promotional days and/or events. Work on-site alongside staff from various areas of Athletics, expected to assure that events run smoothly, when necessary addressing issues and providing solutions.
- Update and/or develop digital content for the McGill Athletics webpage.
- Highlight, promote and encourage involvement in the Women in Sport program through the content developed of material created
