Description:

You will be responsible for the administration, maintenance and development of the Royal Alberta Museum's collections management database system and its accompanying tools by:

  • Leading or coordinating RAM database projects.
  • Maintaining and testing the system by devising and implementing practical solutions to database problems that include working with Service Alberta to improve the existing database.
  • Having a working knowledge of museum collections processes, standard practices, and policies in order that the database tool can be best utilized to meet industry values.
  • Ensuring that collections data is accessible to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that data management follows established museum industry standards and departmental information requirements.
  • Continually seeking to update their own knowledge and the knowledge of other staff through training, collaboration, communicating and sharing of information.
  • Leading the museum's efforts to make the collection accessible via an online web platform.
  • Coordinating solutions for the maintenance, standardization, input and retrieval of all specific data.
  • Representing the museum in applicable departmental committees.
