Closure Nomination Analyst

 

Description:

As the Closure Nomination Analyst, you will play an integral part of developing and executing an exciting new program to support liability management in Alberta. This interesting role works with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure submission requirements are met, review submissions and ensure timelines are achieved.

You’ll be part of a diverse and supportive team working in the Regulatory Applications branch. As the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) is currently implementing the Government of Alberta’s liability management framework, this role will play a large part in supporting and developing the new framework.

What your day-to-day will look like:
 

  • Independently review closure nomination submissions. This includes coordinating responses to requestors, licensees, and monitoring timelines.
  • Work collaboratively with teams across the AER that have responsibility for various aspects of the Closure Nomination Program (CNP) process. This includes referrals to subject matter experts as required and supporting associated compliance work to support the program.
  • Maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure understanding of Closure Nomination Program requirements and process.
  • Provide training for industry and AER Groups on regulatory requirements as it pertains to the Closure Nomination Program. (i.e. training, coaching, & presentations).
  • Respond to internal, industry and public queries about the Closure Nomination Program and/or requirements.
  • Coordinate tracking and reporting of all relevant aspects of the Closure Nomination Program.
     

What we’re looking for in you:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, science, legal studies, arts, or a related field.
  • Five years related work experience in working with stakeholders, complaints, and associated administrative processes.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including experience with public speaking and delivering presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage varying responsibilities, conflicting priorities, and deliver results in a deadline driven environment.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is considered an asset.
  • Certification in Conflict Resolution is considered an asset.
