Claims Analyst

 

Description:

  • Review and assess new claims to determine coverage and take appropriate action

  • Retain and instruct lawyers/adjusters when required

  • Receive and review reports from service providers

  • Determine liability, value of claim, service provider fees and sets reserves accordingly

  • Coordinate and control progress of files including liaison with lawyers, adjusters, insurers and insureds

  • Prepare and maintain reports and correspondence pertinent to ongoing operation

  • Liaise with underwriting department with respect to claims

  • Respond to brokers/insureds/insurers inquiries

  • Report to insurers on large claims and presents files at semi-annual insurers meetings

  • Prepare for and attends settlement conferences and mediations

  • Conduct internal audits

  • Prepare and deliver presentations to insureds and brokers as well as “in-house” presentations/seminars

  • May be required to write loss control bulletins and claims procedures discussion papers

  • May be required to participate in loss control seminars and company events

  • Travel may be required

  • Perform other related duties as required
