We are currently accepting applications for the role of: Chief Communications and Public Engagement Officer The Role Reporting to the President and CEO, the Chief Communications and Public Engagement Officer is a supporting member of the Executive Management Committee and the Senior Leadership Team with their primary focus to combine strategic and operational accountability to support the future vision and values of Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services. The Chief Communications and Public Engagement Officer will provide direct support and expert counsel to the leadership team on all aspects of communications and community engagement. They will also provide strategic and operational leadership to envision, enable, and support the ongoing development and delivery of health programs and services that are based on a provincial standard of care, integrated, efficient, sustainable, high quality, safe, and responsive to the needs of citizens of Newfoundland and Labrador. The Chief Communications and Public Engagement Officer will have provincial responsibility for areas that include internal and external communication, media relations, relationship management, crisis management, and marketing and promotion. They will support engagement initiatives across the province and provide frameworks, tools, and secretariat support to members of the leadership team. They will also support the Board of Trustees Community Engagement Committee. The role requires close collaboration with other health and social system leaders, as well as community members to support ongoing integration and transformation initiatives. This will require working directly with the entire Senior Leadership Team, clinical and program staff, Indigenous partners, and various government departments and agencies. During the transition to a single health service, the Chief Public Engagement and Communications Officer will collaborate directly with the Vice Presidents in each zone and the entire executive team. They will hold joint accountability for communicating change to internal and external stakeholders. The Chief Communications and Public Engagement Officer will foster and maintain positive relationships with key local and provincial representatives and health care stakeholders including government departments and officials. Transforming our health system is a collective responsibility. Senior leaders will be expected to play a variety of roles and adapt to changes as we progress through the process of integration. Members of the Senior Leadership team may be assigned responsibility for programs, departments, or projects within the organization as determined by the Chief Executive Officer.
