The Procurement Organization manages all aspects of sourcing & procurement within Bell. The Procurement Department’s mission is to create value through its role of providing best-in-class sourcing solutions while improving Bell’s EBITDA through cost reductions.
We are seeking a candidate to join Bell Canada’s Procurement Organization as Category Manager, reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager of Wireline Core. The portfolio includes contracts for a range of products and services mainly supporting Wireline Core (Wireline access, Metro and Voice networks, IP Network & Fibe-BRS).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of commercial contracts and vendor relationships
- Lead negotiation of agreements on behalf of Bell, working with internal stakeholders (business unit clients, Legal, Security, etc.) to set optimal terms and conditions for the provision of products and services
- Lead business initiatives that maximize supplier relationships by obtaining the best value while minimizing risk
- Conduct detailed assessments of clients’ needs, including re-examination of baseline assumptions or predetermined solutions with the intent to raise the level of awareness for Procurement within the company
- Support and/or lead sourcing initiatives utilizing Bell systems in the distribution and management of RFI, RFQ and RFP documents
- Drive total cost of ownership reduction through joint process improvements with suppliers and re-negotiate contracts directly
- Manage, perform quality control, and generate reports on spend data and other key indicators as required
- Recommend, develop, coordinate and implement best practice processes and procedures to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of the work performed by Procurement
Critical Qualifications
- University degree or College diploma and equivalent work experience
- Superior communication, written and verbal with ability to interact with senior levels of the organization
- A minimum of 2 years procurement experience
- Excellent negotiation experience
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, statistics knowledge and experience required
- Ability to collaborate and persuade others by working with various department sponsors, governance stakeholders, and other Procurement colleagues
- Excellent prioritization
- Results orientation; resilience in the face of complexity
- Demonstrated and tenacious problem solving skills
- PC proficient (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Bilingualism required: In the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English speaking stakeholders across Canada
