Description:
The position requires a highly versatile, organized, energized, and self-motivated individual who can
work independently, and adjust quickly in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have
excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Other responsibilities include:
Developing asset management strategies related to equipment management.
Working collaboratively with managers and finance to develop capital equipment budget and
monitor capital budget expenditures.
Develops, prioritizes, and manages the operating budgets, monitors funds and tracks
expenditures in accordance with established policies and procedures
Human resource management-recruiting and training employees, planning, assigning and
directing work, appraising performance, addressing complaints and dispute resolution.
Development of project plans outlining timelines, resources, budget, goals, stakeholder
engagement, communication, issues tracking, risk logs, and status reporting.
Maintain equipment/asset database which includes preventative maintenance plans,
lifecycle plans, and daily work order assignments for technicians.
Create key performance indicators and departmental metrics that align with organization’s
strategic directives.
Address incident reports related to medical devices, and complete any regulatory reporting.
Create and update departmental policies and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications Include:
University Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering/Technology, Business Management,
Healthcare Administration. A combination of experience and equivalent education from an
accredited college or technical school may be considered as an under fill
3-5 years of progressive management experience
Recent project management experience in a healthcare setting
Certification in PMP preferred
High level of customer orientation/understanding.
Prepares and manages capital projects, operating budgets, variance reports and forecasting.
Demonstrated leadership, change management, problem solving, critical thinking, conflict
resolution, team building, facilitation and communication skills are essential
Experience in coordinating institutional efforts to achieve accreditation status and meet the
standards of the required organizational practices
Demonstrated ability to prioritize activities, meet deadlines and manage multiple and complex
operational matters on a daily basis, and resolve problems in a timely manner and maintaining
accuracy/attention to detail
Demonstrated commitment to ensure your safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients,
volunteers, and visitors
Ability to support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in
our organization required
Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required
Good attendance and work record required
Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
