Cad Designer

Description:

We are a custom stainless steel fabrication company in Calgary, recently awarded a large-scale architectural project, and we are looking for an experienced CAD Designer specializing in sheet metal to join us on a contract basis. This project involves the design and development of powder-coated aluminum components for an architectural media wall.

Key Responsibilities:

• Use SolidWorks to develop precise 3D models and flat patterns for laser cutting and fabrication.

• Produce shop drawings and DXF files for fabrication.

• Collaborate with our team to ensure manufacturability and accuracy of designs.

• Interpret architectural drawings and adapt them for sheet metal fabrication.

• Ensure fit, function, and clean assembly in the final product.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in sheet metal design, particularly in architectural or industrial applications.

• Proficiency with SolidWorks and familiarity with AutoCAD.

• Strong understanding of bend allowances, flat patterning, and fabrication tolerances.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a team.

• Availability to start immediately.

Nice to Have:

• Located in Calgary or nearby (site visits not mandatory but a plus).

• Experience with stainless steel or aluminum architectural features.
