Description:
As a Business Systems Consultant, you will be assigned to the AOS Utilities - Tax team.
What you will do?
- Provide day-to-day support for business taxslips file transmissions to and from the vendor
- Facilitate, manage and monitor file transmissions sent/received according to set schedule
- Expediently triage all file issues encountered and perform or delegate analysis, remediation and resolution
- Handle/assign incoming Service Requests
- Review and/or approve Change Management requests
- Manage all business user access to Tax Tools and perform annual security reviews
- Chair Tax Council meetings and business partner meetings; schedule and set agendas
- Assist key business partner with vendor management
- Provide project management for mass amendment process (if event occurs)
- Organize and assist with annual Production Validation Testing of vendor tool after tax year roll-over
- Manage annual Regression Schedule / process with vendor, business partners and their IT areas
- Lead team-specific Disaster Recovery Exercise preparation and execution
- Work with various Business areas and their IT partners to gather, document and manage business requirements on baseline/operations issues, enhancements and small projects by following current company development methodology.
- Facilitate communication between business and technology areas to address business issues.
- Ensure all written documentation is clear, understandable, audience-appropriate and accurately captures key information required for a quality solution that meets business needs.
- Work with the team on process analysis and improvements
- Develop an understanding of the business area, system(s) being managed as well as the business direction.
- Participate fully as a member of the team by supporting a work environment that promotes knowledge sharing, customer service, quality, innovation and teamwork.
What you need to succeed?
- Minimum of 5 years previous experience working in business analysis role is required
- Facilitation: ability to guide and keep a group on track, recognize issues that need to be dealt with, ensure everyone is heard; provide guidance through collaborative decision-making to achieve its goals
- Analysis: ability to break down high level business requirements into more detail by questioning and probing for clarification
- Consulting: Gather information by applying approaches or styles applicable to the situation
- Use questioning techniques and objective listening to clarify expectations and assumptions
- Problem management: work to prevent problems or decrease impact of problems when possible
- Work with others to reach solutions
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PPT)
Unique Requirements:
- Some travel between Toronto and Waterloo may be required.
