Cenovus is currently looking for a Business Student in the Finance Department for the Winter 2024 work term. You will be an integral part of the Finance Team, supporting all team members in finance and accounting-related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with month end accruals, journal entries, reporting and variance analysis.

• Assisting with the invoice attest and accounts payable processes.

• Assisting members of the Finance Department as they work with the business to prepare quarterly forecasts and possibly annual budgets.

• Ad hoc support to Finance related projects.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Legally entitled to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa)

• Available to begin work in January, 2024

• Attention to detail and accuracy, with a demonstrated ability to work independently, multi-task and meet strict and occasionally moving deadlines.

• Strong interpersonal and team skills.

• Excel skills an asset.

Education

• Must be enrolled in a Business Undergraduate Program specializing in Accounting or Finance at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of the intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term

• Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered

• New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
