What the day will look like
- Working with the Regional branch staff as required, to uncover and develop new group & retail opportunities and increase penetration levels on existing groups
- Developing presentations for prospective groups; assisting with introductions to prospective clients and providing professional resource support
- Must be comfortable presenting to both colleagues and clients alike
- Liaising regularly with the Commercial Account Executives and advising on status, group developments and/or arranging joint meeting
- Completing the required group documentation as outlined (Group Application, Group Marketing Plan, etc.) to ensure proper distribution to all interested parties
- Working with group insurance carriers to place selected groups and monitoring the development of existing groups
- Developing and implementing an annual marketing plan for existing and onboarded groups
- Work collaboratively with the group sponsor to implement all plans and employee meetings
- Assisting in the education of branch staff relative to the sales and service requirements for group & retail business development
- With the marketing team, preparing group marketing material and ensuring its availability for group development
- Some travel required within ON, TO and Eastern Canada
- Leading by example, demonstrating, and sharing with all lines of business the importance of best practice
- Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned

Skills and experience that will lead to success
- 2+ years of relevant sales/account management experience, preferably in insurance
- Strong negotiation skills, with a proven record in sales performance, including online sales
- An enthusiastic team player with strong relationship and empathy building skills who is capable of selling reasons for change to a diverse range of clients
- Must hold or be willing to acquire a RIBO License
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills – able to communicate and engage well across organisational levels
- Well developed influencing skills and the ability to achieve success through others
- A thorough understanding of different sales processes and methodologies and the value of marketing
