Description:

The mission of the ImPaKT Department within the Schulich School of Medicine, is to conduct research which contributes to a better understanding of the interplay between microbes and the immune system. The primary mission of ImPaKT is to advance research of infectious diseases by providing state of the art imaging tools within containment level 2 and 3 laboratories.

Responsibilities


The Business Development Coordinator will perform a wide range of administrative duties to support a program, research project, department or other business unit. The incumbent will carry out administrative functions, communicate and build relationships with a wide range of internal and external contacts. The Business Development Coordinator will anticipate and resolve issues, coordinate projects, and the implementation of administrative systems and procedures. The incumbent will serve as a principal source of information regarding administrative functions, and may monitor budgets, project timelines, and financial processes. The incumbent may be required to provide analysis, information and reports on primary business objectives.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Undergraduate Degree, in Business Management/Administration preferred


Experience:

  • 1 year of administrative experience in an office environment


Skills, Abilities & Expertise:

  • Knowledge of general office procedures
  • Familiarity with financial records management
  • Familiarity with Human Resources principles and practices
  • Familiarity with University policies and procedures preferred
  • Ability to ensure expenditures and resources are within allotments, and to make appropriate modifications when required
  • Ability to foster collaboration and respect among team members
  • Communication skills with confidence interacting with individuals at all levels of an organization
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to apply creativity, innovation and resourcefulness to daily work
  • Customer service skills with a desire to achieve results in a professional and timely manner
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
  • Ability to create a positive impression while interacting with others and responding to inquiries, by telephone, in person or electronically
