The Sr Advisor Business Development will lead, support, and provide commercial advice for liquid pipeline mainline and market development initiatives in Canada and US. This position supports the evaluation and the processes associated with commercial opportunities in North America.
What you will do:
Support commercial transactions and other business development activities ranging in complexity and cost ($1 MM - $5 B) through the project lifecycle from conception to completion with a focus on risk identification, due diligence and adhering to company policies and procedures.
Support in the completion of necessary definitive transaction agreements such as the Non-disclosure Agreements, Transportation Services Agreements and Memorandum of Understandings
Analytical support of commercial deals by applying strong business knowledge and financial aptitude to ensure enhancement of shareholder value
Lead and coordinate internal cross functional resources from groups such as Infrastructure Planning, Operations, Finance, Regulatory and Legal to ensure transactions meet internal screening requirements.
Develop and maintain strong business relationships with external customers through new project development support, ongoing customer interface on projects under execution and regular meetings for business and relationship purposes.
Support commercial component of business proposals presented to senior management and/or the Board of Directors for approval by assisting with gathering, developing information, and developing communication material.
Monitor market conditions and industry events along with political and business environments to assess viability of business prospects.
Who you are:
Completion of a post-secondary degree in Engineering, Business, or related area
6 or more years of directly related experience in business development or the energy and pipeline industry.
Strong ability to develop significant relationships with external customers to identify business opportunities for Enbridge as well as with internal stakeholders in support of project proposals.
Previous pipeline experience with commercial and negotiation experience is an asset.
