The ideal candidate will have a combination of both Business and Technical experience, along with a proven track record of delivery and figuring out how to get things done in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead dynamic project teams in the successful completion of large complex Business and Technical projects
- Provide leadership and support to project teams removing obstacles as necessary
- Lead resolution of problems to ensure minimal or no delay to project deliverables
- Create, execute, and monitor project management plans and schedules.
- Manage scope, risks, and issues throughout the project life cycle
- Obtain appropriate skilled resources and coordinate project activities for successful delivery.
- Create and manage project financials to track costs and control spending.
- Manage quality of delivered solution, ensuring all project objectives are met.
- Maintain project repository to enhance communication, allow for tracking, and ensure transparency.
- Create and communicate status reporting to all required parties.
- Manage relationships and work efforts of third-party vendors and consultants.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Completion of post-secondary education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7 years’ experience managing large, complex, and strategic projects.
- Formal project management training from a recognized college/university.
- Agile training and or certification.
- Experience using various project management methodologies and project management tools.
- Knowledge and understanding of Information Technology principles (Architecture/Application Development/Quality Assurance/Service Delivery).
- Knowledge and understanding of key Business functions and practices.
- Communicates in a persuasive and eloquent manner to all levels of audience, effectively facilitates sessions, and delivers powerful presentations.
- Ability to support high team morale by encouraging others to be excited, motivated, and enthusiastic about project activities and outcomes.
- Ability to develop and implement comprehensive plans that bridge complex issues, monitors performance, and keeps work on track.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to continuously identify and action strategic opportunities for the project team and organization.
- Project Management Professional certification is considered an asset.
- Knowledge and experience in Property & Casualty Insurance industry is considered an asset.
