CIBC’s Capital Markets Technology, Global Derivatives & FICC vertical is seeking a Business System Analyst to join their Collateral and Inventory Management team. The role is responsible for providing technical expertise for service delivery and operations for the project management office tools and systems. The role works on complex issues involving one or more technical areas, mentoring employees and performing tasks of advanced technical depth and breadth. The ideal candidate will possess strong business acumen, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills. This role requires proficiency in SQL, Python, and documentation, along with a deep understanding of business processes and technical workflows

How You'll Succeed
- Understanding and documenting requirements - Work closely with business partners to gather complicated business requirements and facilitate solution design discussions to ensure you meet project needs. Create strong relationships, lead discussions, listen and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements.
- Solution design - Assemble client-focused solutions that meet business requirements. Prepare and validate solution design documents around areas such as scope clarification, solution requirements, and quality assurance.
- Leading and mentoring – Support end-to-end project implementation as a subject matter expert, and provide guidance to a diverse team of technology and project professionals. Maintain a collaborative work environment and support team members to resolve organizational, operational, and process problems.
Who You Are
- You can demonstrate experience with: 4+ years in a BSA in a BSC role leading projects and designing solutions in financial products, especially in derivatives and/or retail banking products. Candidates with Capital Markets experience are highly encouraged to apply.
- Additionally you have excellent abilities to manage stakeholders and having strong communication skills is a must along with the ability to elicit requirements and write strong documentation. You have strong abilities around analyzing and understanding data, as well as gap analysis expertise. You are proficient with SQL, Excel pivot tables, Visio, and other Microsoft office applications. You have strong problem solving skills, stakeholder management abilities, and exceptional organizational skills.
- It’s an asset if you have an understanding of Confluence/Jira experience, while working in an Agile environment.
- You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Business, and/or a related field, and you’ve spent at least 3 years in a BSC role leading projects and designing solutions. It’s an asset if you have experience with Agile methodologies, and Application and/or Architecture Development.
