Building Operator I

 

Description:

Committed to providing service and maintenance of the electrical and mechanical equipment used in the daily operation of the physical plant and Centre. The successful candidate must be available to work afternoons, evenings and weekends, including holidays.

What you will deliver:
 

  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs required for the maintenance and upkeep of equipment in order to maintain corporate image and provide tenants and customers with a safe and healthy environment
  • Secure CF property against loss due to theft, fire, liability claims and prosecutions resulting from operations by ensuring all health, safety and security procedures are adhered to and areas of concern are reported to the appropriate parties in a timely manner in order to limit exposure to liability and loss
  • Monitor central plant and related systems to ensure a comfortable environment for tenants and patrons
  • Test fire equipment on a monthly basis by checking valves and bells for proper operations ensuring tenant and customer safety
  • Perform daily inspections of all common and maintenance areas and responsible for relamping in all areas of the property to ensure proper lighting levels
  • Respond to tenants concerns regarding HVAC issues by solving problems or making recommendations as required in order to reduce repair costs for CF and ensure a high level of customer service to tenants and customers embracing Client First Strategy
  • Other duties as assigned

What you need to succeed:
 

  • High school diploma and enrolled in SMA or SMT (BOMA)
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in physical plant operations, HVAC and other related equipment preferably in a commercial hi-rise or mixed use environment an asset
  • Thorough knowledge of general maintenance procedures (i.e. plumbing, tiling, drywalling, painting, etc.), complete familiarity with site and current technology
  • General knowledge of HVAC electrical/mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of computer and related programs: Microsoft Office, Gmail, Energy management systems software or comparable systems etc.
