Description:
This role is the Program Lead for the bank’s Finance Modernization program, which is a key enabler to transforming to the finance function of the future. Finance Modernization involves significant investment in the end-to-end replacement of Finance architecture. This role will advance and maintain the integrity of the finance function to facilitate continuous and sustainable improvement across various operational areas through operating model changes, process improvements and technology solutions leveraging new technology and data.
This role has overall responsibility for the completion of projects or programs in Finance involving several departments and geographies within a matrix management structure. This includes: developing work plans that include a variety of non-routine assignments or projects, establishing specific objectives, determining appropriate methods and procedures, establishing deadlines and identifying new priorities and taking necessary action accordingly. The focus is to direct programs of high strategic importance.
How You’ll Succeed
- Finance modernization – Lead the multi-year program of the end-to-end replacement of Finance’s technology infrastructure. This includes maintaining a business architecture road map and driving business case creation, vendor selection and management, project plan development, implementation, and related process change management.
- Business transformation – Advocate for and oversee initiatives that drive adoption of ‘best practices’ that will standardize, re-engineer, and enhance operations enabling technology and information. Advance and maintain the integrity of the finance function to facilitate continuous, sustainable improvement through the use of process automation tools, emerging technologies and data. Review the impact, effectiveness, and feasibility of current and planned programs, products or services to maximize return on investment and benefits realization. Assess recommendations related to new, or upgrades to, new technology in order to provide a highly automated, best-in-class environment to support Finance employees and its partners and to capitalize on cost savings. Oversee the maintenance of up to date inventories of all deliverables, activities, processes and documentation, with sufficient granularity to drive meaningful operational improvement.
- Leadership – Provide leadership and guidance to drive continuous, sustainable improvement across various operational areas. Provide input to the Finance operating model, investments plans, and strategic planning process in support of the Finance Executive leadership team.
- Project delivery - Provide leadership for the Project Delivery team accountable for the completion of projects or programs in Finance according to general/broad work plans. Oversee the intake of all project and initiative requests. Direct the optimum deployment of resources to ensure delivery of projects meet functional requirements on time, on budget and within quality standards
- People leadership – Build team and individual capabilities by providing development opportunities such as job shadowing, special projects and training. Manage performance by providing fair and accurate formal and informal feedback, identifying and removing business obstacles to performance and by explaining how performance expectations align with business priorities.
Who You Are
- You can demonstrate knowledge of major tasks, deliverables, formal methodologies and disciplines for delivering new or enhanced technology applications. You have knowledge of finance and accounting principles, financial analysis, financial reporting and people leadership. It’s an asset if you have knowledge of business process design that encourages a critical, fresh look at key processes and focuses on optimizing organizational performance and you have led the design and implementation of business process methods and tools. Knowledge of SAP Enterprise Resource Planning solutions would be also be an asset.
