Associate Software Engineer

Description:

Capital One Canada is seeking talented Associate Software Engineers to join their dynamic and innovative technology team. As part of the Tech Development Program (TDP), engineers will participate in hands-on learning, development, and networking opportunities. The role involves working on critical projects that shape the future of digital banking and financial technology in Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

✔ Work as part of a dynamic Agile team throughout the software development life cycle
✔ Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions
✔ Collaborate with designers and analysts to implement enhancements or new applications
✔ Develop CI/CD pipelines to AWS cloud environment
✔ Improve user experience for Android/iOS applications
✔ Create front-end applications using React and Angular
✔ Develop backend microservices and APIs
✔ Enhance cybersecurity and ensure compliance with security best practices
✔ Conduct code reviews and ensure quality assurance standards
✔ Maintain documentation for software development and revisions

Basic Qualifications:

🔹 Bachelor’s degree (graduating between January 2024 - January 2025)
🔹 Strong understanding of testing fundamentals
🔹 Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems
🔹 Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills
🔹 Ability to collaborate in a team setting

Preferred Qualifications:

✔ Experience in front-end development (JavaScript, HTML, React, Vue, Angular)
✔ Knowledge of programming languages: Java, Python, JavaScript, NodeJS, Kotlin
✔ Experience with Jenkins CI/CD, microservices, API design
✔ Familiarity with Git version control
✔ Experience in a Linux/Unix environment with a strong coding background
