Description:


Biopharmaceutical Development’s (BPD) Business Planning and Operations team leads the development and implementation of BPD’s functional strategy and operational support. Major areas of responsibility include supporting the creation of long-term technical objectives, development of annual budgets, functional resource management, contract management, and ensuring cross functional leadership bodies and business processes are effective.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Embrace the role of process or system owner for key resource management systems used by BPD (e.g. PLANIT, RESOURCEIT, CAPIT, MYTIME)
  • Ensure R&D portfolio information and tools are reliable (i.e. contain up-to-date and accurate information) and are deployed to optimally support planning and control (P&C) of BPD FTE allocation / budgets in alignment with TA demand.
  • Independently review data and suggest improvements to templates, algorithms, tools and processes.
  • Coordinate with Finance and functional accountable leaders and support Rolling Budget Update (RBU)/Long Term Plan (LTP), and Mid Term Plan (MTP) business processes.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the global and functional BPD tools and business process for resource/capacity planning in conjunction with key partners across BPD.
  • Support BPD interactions with Resource Councils and other relevant P&C related partners external to the function.
  • Supports BPD functions in the area of capacity management
  • Support functional leaders (SET-2) and their functional delegates in development and maintenance of high-quality resource demand estimates for specific SET-2 functions, specific skill sets and specific portfolio projects.
  • Support SET-2 functions by implementing central processes for review, report, and assessment of functional demand and capacity. Actively identify functional operation resource gaps and implement opportunities to simplify processes/way of working.
  • Act as an expert for functional algorithms, demand, capacity, and actual efforts and generate routine reports to provide insights on functional capacity and utilization
  • Support periodic SET-2 reviews of prioritization, rebalancing and supply/ budget constraints. Provide input to any assessment of the ability of BPD function’s to deliver the portfolio / budget expectations required to broader capacity management team
  • Liaises with key stakeholders across the organization to ensure teams are providing accurate resource management data
  • Support BPD Functions interactions with BPD Governance bodies and leadership team. Ensure reliable process for information collection and reporting.
  • Support ad-hoc resource analysis requests in support of external benchmarking efforts or internal BPD leadership team discussions

     

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
  • Experience in capacity/resource analysis and management
  • Previous experience of working in the Pharmaceutical and/or Healthcare industry.
  • Experience in Portfolio and/or Project management in a large and sophisticated multinational business environment
  • Preference for someone with expertise in drug development resource and capacity tracking and analysis (business case/decision analysis, scenario modeling and forecasting).
  • Excellent data analysis skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent with Microsoft Excel and POWERBI
  • Good negotiation skills
