What will you do?
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture leadership team to drive Manulife’s Enterprise Architecture practice transformation into an internal consultancy.
- Participate in Architecture service delivery to support strategic planning and roadmapping, technology innovation, application and technology portfolio, and technology standards management.
- Engage with business leaders to understand business strategy, objectives and key results and execute architectural assessments to identify the optimal transition from strategy to execution, that supports business transformation and modernization across the enterprise.
- Participate in the development of organization’s business architecture to support capability, value stream or customer journey assessments and to define and govern outcome-based transformation roadmaps.
- Support the creation of technical architectures to achieve business objectives.
- Keep abreast with latest technology developments, industry/market trends, execute competitive research to identify technology innovation opportunities that can optimize or overhaul our business model.
- Lead application portfolio management initiatives, including driving application rationalization, application portfolio roadmaps, program governance, data management, and total cost of ownership
- Contribute to meeting key project milestones and overall project deliverables on time, within budget, and adhering to relevant standards

What are we looking for?
- Strategic thinking – ability to understand contexts, identify patterns and trends, and analyze impact of different change factors.
- Impactful experience in one or more Architecture services: strategic planning and roadmapping, emerging technologies adoption, idea qualification, solution architecture and governance, and application portfolio optimization.
- Desire and ability to understand diverse business domains and develop architectures that meet the current and anticipated business needs across a broad set of partners.
- Demonstrated experience and tangible results across several architecture/analysis domains (business, application, data, integration, infrastructure, security).
- Experience with capability, value stream and customer experience assessments, or business process improvement.
- Familiarity with several architecture/design patterns (e.g., microservices, SOA, Event sourcing, etc.) or data and application integration patterns (Domain-Driven, APIs, messaging, streaming, sync/async).
- Familiarity addressing operational and non-functional concerns (e.g., scalability, performance, maintainability, load distribution, resilience, recovery, security, and privacy).
- A strong software engineering and/or architecture background is preferred.
