Human Resources is responsible for implementing HSBC’s people strategy. It facilitates talent management, succession planning and employee mobility while defining and overseeing frameworks that support employee performance management, reward, learning and development, resourcing and engagement.
About the role
The role covers the accountability of Performance & Reward (P&R) relationship management and leading functional work-streams. The role holder needs to work effectively through a complex spectrum of relationship, regulatory requirements, and local challenges spread across multiple businesses and stakeholders. The key elements of the role include end-to-end responsibility of performance and rewards, including relationship management, annual pay review cycle, implementation of local initiatives and stakeholder management.
This role is a fixed term contract for a 10 month duration.
Responsibilities
- Lead all Performance & Rewards related activities initiatives as required in Canada.
- Liaise with external consultants for market intelligence; Participate and partner in various Industry and knowledge forums to share and exchange information across a common platform.
- Take end-to-end responsibility to implement, run, and monitor pay review related activities including but not limited to training sessions, preparation meetings with key stakeholders, communication, variable pay modeling, baseline review, variable and fixed pay funding monitoring/control, audit checks and others.
- Work with Human Resources and business for all funding related work, including complex funding models and bespoke reviews.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy to enhance robustness of the pay review process.
- Partner with HRBPs and recruitment to position total reward strategy as an enabler to attract and retain talent, build a sustainable performance oriented culture, and support business to achieve its objectives.
- Conduct first line senior level job evaluations if required.
- Lead on local projects as determined from time to time.
- Understand local regulatory landscapes and market practices to ensure all Performance & Rewards policies are in line.
- Establish strong working relationship with HRBPs and senior business leaders to support them in all Performance, Reward and related matters.
- Conduct training and knowledge sharing sessions with senior stakeholders to demystify rewards and benefits whenever required.
- Work with external partners on local and global initiatives (e.g. auditors, external consultants, etc.)
- Maintain flexibility and responsibility in working with others to achieve common goals.
- Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
- Manage our processes to ensure satisfactory governance on an ongoing basis.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.
- Good understanding of Industry and Business.
- Proven functional and Relationship management skill.
- Ability to work remotely with stakeholders – both internal and external.
- Advanced excel skills.
- Self-starter and good team player.
