We seek a full-time faculty general surgeon with fellowship training in trauma surgery who will fulfill an important role in the Division as a surgeon- investigator, with no less than 50% of their time to committed to research activity. The research focus should be aligned with the directions of our strategic plan available here: https://sunnybrook.ca/content/?page=strategic-plan-2021-25. The successful candidate will possess a strong track record and graduate level training their area of research. Evidence of excellence in teaching is required.
Clinically, the successful candidate will join an academic group providing comprehensive trauma care spanning the entire continuum, ranging from resuscitation, operative care, acute care in the ICU and ward, to rehabilitation and recovery. Our centre includes a strong resident and fellowship training program. There will be no opportunity for an elective surgical practice given the specific focus of this role.

The candidate must be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and for certification with the Royal College of Physicians, Surgeons of Canada and licence with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

The Tory Regional Trauma Centre is Canada’s largest trauma centre and fulfills a critical role in the region, serving all of South Central Ontario and providing learning opportunities for wide spectrum of trainees across several surgical specialties.
