Description:

The successful candidate will hold a doctorate degree in Creative Technologies or a related field. However, the committee will consider applicants who are PhD candidates (ABD), and applicants who have an MFA. Expertise in one or more of the following is required: Virtual Reality, Video Game Design, Computational Arts, New Media Art, Physical Computing. In addition to having a strong artistic practice, the preferred candidate must have experience in both critical theory and practice. Additional professional/industry experience in creative technologies and design and/or the creative industries is desirable.

The successful candidate must demonstrate significant creative and scholarly output at the professional peer-reviewed level with the ability to connect theory to practice. Experience working in the creative industries or with creative industries partners is an asset. Preference will be given to those with a strong creative research agenda and a record of successful teaching experience at the post-secondary level. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in innovative, externally funded research or research creation at the highest level.

Teaching will include both studio/lab-based and lecture formats, as well as online and mixed modalities at the undergraduate level in Creative Technologies and Design. Previous studio/lab-based teaching experience in creative technologies, design, or a related area is required. Supervision of undergraduate and graduate student work will be expected.
