This placement opportunity is for vacancies in the following department within System Control:
General Accountabilities
- Participate on a team in performing assigned responsibilities.
- Participate in implementing Hydro One’s Transmission Outage Program.
- Identify opportunities and develop strategies, procedures, plans and schedules for transmission outages.
- Participate in coordinating the outage program in an efficient and cost-effective manner, recognizing internal Hydro One's business processes and Service Level Agreements.
- Co-ordinate, develop and schedule equipment outage plans with Stations, Construction Services, TX and DX Lines, other Hydro One LoB’s, external customers and the IESO.
- Minimize the impact of Hydro One’s Transmission Outage Program on the Ontario Electricity Marketplace.
- Participate in the overall coordination of transmission and generation outages within the Ontario Electric Marketplace as per defined in the market manuals/rules and the Transmission Connection Agreement.
- Contribute to delivering a consolidated outage plan to the ISOC Control Room.
- Manage Hydro One’s transmission assets and fulfill operating and commercial accountabilities in all time frames.
- Develop agreements/adjustments with external customers such as OPG, Bruce Power, LDC’s, etc. for outage plans.
- Respond to equipment outages on the transmission system providing advice, direction and contingency planning coordination.
- Provide operations support to the ISOC Control Room.
- Provide operations support and input to Hydro One strategic initiatives.
- Responsible for the design, development, coordination and delivery of operating training programs. Prepare for integrated Transmission and Distribution System operations; provide needs assessments, program design and development, program implementation and evaluation for operating training. Create, review and maintain materials required for delivery of operating training, and set standards for training.
- Coordinate training through scheduled training days and on-line computer modules.
- Provide initial and continuing training.
- Create, review and maintain materials required for delivery of the above training, including training for other LOBs and external entities as contracted.
- Review and provide feedback on new or revised documentation, processes and tools for the ISOC use from the viewpoint of their training implications and operability.
- Represent the Company on various internal and external training workgroups.
- Assist in other duties of the ISOC as workload and priorities dictate.
