Your role

As Scheduling Assistant, you will be responsible for establishing and coding the schedule in the Scheduling System, based on various documentation made available to you, including program and promo schedules, program cue sheets, etc. You will also act as liaison with the various units affected by those changes.

  • Analyzes and examines documentation and information from various sources in order to identify and validate data for schedule proposals, program schedules, time schedules, on-air promos, sales, cue sheets, terms and conditions, program distribution, captioning, etc.
  • Establishes and codes, according to information, schedule proposals, program schedules, time schedules, on-air promo availabilities, commercial blocks, captioning, etc.; according to relevant information (such as titles, repeats/original broadcasts, timing, commercial messages, dates and times, on-air promos, identification, breaks, program codes, as well as automatic switching, distribution and airing codes, etc.), ensures follow-up and necessary corrective measures, and notifies the departments concerned.
  • Analyzes the impact of programming or other changes in order to make the necessary adjustments; ensures follow-up and necessary corrective measures, and notifies the departments concerned.
  • Codes programs according to CRTC guidelines to determine Canadian content percentage, identify the program category, and others; ensures follow-up and necessary corrective measures; establishes, according to broadcast data, confirmation logs for CRTC control purposes.
  • Completes the appropriate forms and documents; prepares any correspondence and reports required in accordance with the information provided and ensures the necessary follow-up.
  • Familiarizes other persons with their job by explaining his own duties.
