Description:

As a Jazz Ramp Attendant, you will be part of a team ensuring the safe and on time arrival/departures of aircrafts. In the course of a day, you will be responsible for: the pre-placement of ground equipment for aircraft arrivals, marshaling of aircrafts in and out of designated parking spots, loading and unloading of baggage/cargo for our customers. You will communicate pertinent information to our pilots and other team members. Your team will consist of individuals from diverse backgrounds, including but not limited to race, age, skills, abilities, and personalities you will be expected to treat all co-workers and customers with the utmost care and respect. This safety critical position, requires adherence to operating procedures while driving and working around all aircrafts. Jazz is the Express carrier for Air Canada, however, we may also be tasked with other airline operations and needs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Manager, Customer Service, new employees will be responsible for the following:

  • Performance of duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, and the safety of co-workers and customers.
  • Assistance of passengers with disabilities to board and deplane
  • Cleaning/Grooming of aircraft between fights
  • Operation of different types of ground support equipment and vehicles.
  • Securing aircraft safety with wheel chocks, and inclement weather protective gear.
  • Completion of electronic and paper forms that support equipment maintenance, employee safety and performance monitoring.
  • Willingness to take a continuous learning approach to the development of your ramp skills and responsibilities.
  • Responsible for shifts requested and when possible, help coworkers cover shifts when they are sick or otherwise unable to cover.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Candidates will be bondable and possess a valid driver's license.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate ground vehicles and equipment.

  • Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to work with little or no supervision.

  • Preference will be given to applicants with previous ramp experience.

  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.*
