Administrative Assistant

 

Description:

As an Administrative Assistant, you'll be the first point of contact for clients providing front-line services, including receiving clients who are accused or convicted of criminal or other offenses and providing routine information to the general public. Your responsibilities include entering and updating client information in the Corrections Branch electronic information system (CORNET), maintaining filing systems, and providing confidential office administrative support. You'll also have the opportunity to support probation officers who are dedicated to helping people make positive changes in their lives through the risk-needs-responsivity (RNR) model of correctional supervision and CORE programs. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
  • Minimum one (1) year of related experience, education and or training (eg. Clerical, secretarial, receptionist, or administrative support).
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or training and experience may be considered.
  • Typing speed of 50 wpm.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with six months or more of experience in a similar work environment or assisting clients of a similar nature in a community corrections office.
