The Actuarial Employee Benefits Consultant will:

  • Participate in delivering impactful solutions for organizations of any size and varied industries and have a direct impact on their employees.
  • Work in a collaborative environment on a wide variety of client teams with any number of our 80+ Health colleagues in Toronto.
  • Support clients in the financial and strategic management of their employee benefit programs through analysis and communication.
  • Manage the scope, quality, timeliness and budget of multiple client deliverables;
  • Delegate to and review project work of more junior colleagues which includes technical review of financial, contract, and administrative analysis;
  • Provide direction to analysts and other team members in the preparation and delivery of clear and concise client presentations.

We will count on you to:

  • Lead and support on various non-pension post-employment benefit valuation projects for the purposes of collective bargaining negotiations and M&A activity, in addition to traditional financial reporting.
  • Lead and support client engagements, including managing overall service delivery, strategy, financial evaluations, plan design, renewal, business placement, benchmarking and other studies;
  • Develop benefits design and renewal strategies and drive the development of tools and solutions to address complex client issues;
  • Use appropriate Mercer tools in the development and execution of client strategy;
  • Incorporate compliance and professional standards into all work processes, including transparency, peer review and maintaining required licensure;
  • Provide mentoring and coaching to more junior team members.
