Accounting Clerk

 

Description:

  • Manage accounts payable functions, ensuring payments are processed in a timely manner
  • Reconcile retail store transactions
  • Prepare reconciliations and analysis required for journal entries and the preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Manage payroll processes; ensure all statutory requirements are met
  • Administer attendance system; work closely with plant management to administer and prepare payroll
  • Prepare and manage HST remittances on a monthly or quarterly basis
  • Assist in the preparation of journal entries
  • Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations, as needed
  • Maintain all records with impeccable accuracy and timeliness
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven work experience in accounting with a solid understanding of applicable laws and regulations, financial data analysis and reporting
  • Previous experience working in a fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Ability to deliver quality work within required deadlines, with strong organizational and priority setting skills
