Description:
- Manage accounts payable functions, ensuring payments are processed in a timely manner
- Reconcile retail store transactions
- Prepare reconciliations and analysis required for journal entries and the preparation of monthly financial statements
- Manage payroll processes; ensure all statutory requirements are met
- Administer attendance system; work closely with plant management to administer and prepare payroll
- Prepare and manage HST remittances on a monthly or quarterly basis
- Assist in the preparation of journal entries
- Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations, as needed
- Maintain all records with impeccable accuracy and timeliness
- Other projects and duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven work experience in accounting with a solid understanding of applicable laws and regulations, financial data analysis and reporting
- Previous experience working in a fast paced manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Ability to deliver quality work within required deadlines, with strong organizational and priority setting skills
