Responsibilities
- Individual meetings with students (IM)
- Group coaching, sessions for targeted student groups (GC)
- Tutoring program oversight/facilitation (TPO)
- Core course tutorials (CCT)
- Email and faculty support (EFS)
Academic Success for Students on Academic Probation
- GC, IM: Facilitate the ASP-012 Academic Success Program each term for students on academic probation. This includes teaching workshops, offering study sessions, group coaching, and individual advising.
- IM: Provide academic support and guidance for students on academic probation through the development of semester plans, teaching study skills, regular accountability, and coordinating with other services (e.g., counselling) as necessary.
- EFS: Collaborate with faculty and academic advisors to provide a pro-active approach to helping students on academic probation set academic/program goals and work towards attaining them.
Academic Success for At Risk Students
- GC: Develop and facilitate an academic introduction program for international students to help orient them to studies at Redeemer. This work includes collaboration with the Writing Director to ensure international students are introduced to proper citation standards for university study in Canada.
- GC: Develop and facilitate an academic transition program for first-year students as they transition to university studies.
- CCT: Develop and facilitate tutorials for first- and second-year core courses to provide students with additional support to achieve academic success.
- EFS, GC: Facilitate and promote the Early Academic Referral strategy
- GC, IM: Provide recovery sessions for students who demonstrate poor academic performance based on midterm grades. Group and individual sessions will be offered as necessary.
